X Caprices « Parce que c'est de corps regardés qu il est question…. » Georges Didi Huberman - Ouvrir VenusWhen it comes to representations of the body, how far can we go with the most intimate, most troubling material? The body – object of all desires and all offences, marked by the most basic and immodest of emotions, the reactive body, with the reflections it brings... Where does intimacy end and voyeurism begin? “The audience is invited to contemplate four female figures. Before the gaze settles on one of the four, there is a movement of oscillation, going from one to the next, in order to choose a favourite – because we must choose. We must decide which one is the most tragic, the most touching, the cruellest, the most... Which of the four will captivate the gaze, drawing it to her?” (Sophie-Isabelle Dufour) This “choreographic act” is a reflection on the body as object/subject, and an attempt to reconcile these two contradictions. This act brings the triptych Pour une problématique du corps to a close, and speaks of the numerous impostures that come out of the phenomena surrounding seduction and desire.
